Please contact us at info@discoverydiagnostics.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We do not accept insurance at this time. However, we do accept HSA and FSA cards.
Yes, we do! Simply enter that card number at checkout as you would any other card. If you use an HSA or FSA card to pay for your services, be sure to ask us for an itemized receipt in case your HSA/FSA provider requests it.
We recommend making an appointment so we can have all necessary supplies and paperwork ready for your arrival. While we do accept walk-ins, scheduling ahead helps minimize your wait time. Feel free to give us a quick call when you're on your way. We will always do our best to accommodate you.
For DNA testing, please bring a government issued ID such as Driver’s License or Passport for everyone over the age of 18. A Birth Certificate is NOT an acceptable form of ID. It must have a photo and be government issued.
For DOT drug testing, please bring your government picture ID, and/or CDL if applicable
For Non DOT drug testing, please bring your government issued ID and any forms your employer may have given you. You may be able to use your employee ID if it has a photo on it.
Legal tests are essential when paternity questions arise in legal contexts, such as custody disputes, child support, birth certificate issues, etc. This testing follows strict protocols to ensure the results are admissible in court. The process involves collecting DNA samples under the supervision of a qualified professional. Proper documentation is also maintained throughout the process to establish the chain of custody. Courts often require this testing to resolve disputes, making it a critical step in legal proceedings. Before undergoing legal paternity testing, individuals should consult with a legal professional to understand the implications of the results and how they may affect their situation. Since, unmarried fathers have no paternal rights until paternity is established or voluntary paternity affidavit is signed, we always recommend legal testing.
Non Legal tests are also referred to as “informational”. They are taken specifically for your peace of mind. If you need to uncover the truth, but do not need the results for legal matters, although not recommende, this may be a better choice for you. The results of this test will not be court admissible. This test can be requested or done by anyone, even you! There is no legal paperwork filed and the results are just for you.

That is perfectly fine. He will just need to be accompanied by his parent or legal guardian, and we will need their government issued ID and signature for consent.
The process varies based on the type of DNA testing performed and rather its legal or non legal, but here are some basic steps in the process.
Step 1: Book your appointment online or via phone at 803-380-8211
Step 2: We come to your desired location or you come to us at your appointment time
Step 3: Provide us with your ID, we will fill out paperwork, then possible make a copy of it and take photos of each person depending on type of test.
Step 4: We will then perform your test, and provide you with a copy of forms you just filled out
Step 5: We will ship your specimen to our accredited laboratory, & have results ready for you within the time frame given for your specific test. Time frames are from the time the lab received the samples.
Step 6: Check your email for your results. Results will be sent to the email addresses you provide us with. For your privacy & protection, we cannot give results over the phone, as we are unable to verify who we are speaking with. However, you can come in office for a hard copy if needed.
**This is a quick and painless process. We will make you feel as comfortable as possible, and answer any questions you may have**
The mother does not need to be present for neither legal, nor non-legal paternity testing. The father can give consent for the child (unless there is a court order stating that he does not have custody). Its is always recommend that we include the mother in the test to strengthen the results, but it is not necessary that she participates. If she is not testing, but dad does not have custody, then mom will need to be present to give consent for the child. If dad can give consent, then mom is not needed.
In the case where parents are not available, or do not have custody of the child(ren), then the person who has custody will need to be present to give consent. That could be the mother, family member, DSS caseworker, foster parent, etc. If the mother does not have custody of the child, then it’s not necessary for her to be present, unless she is participating in the test. Only the legal parent or guardian can give consent for the child. We also need to photo copy the ID of the person giving consent.
This happens a lot. But, it’s okay! We have a solution for you. We typically obtain DNA from a cheek swab, but in the case where the child(ren) are not present, we can use “non-standard” samples from the children such as gum, hair, toothbrush, fingernails, & more. Then conduct standard swab from the alleged father. Please call us to learn your options, and how to properly package that item to prevent any cross contamination.
This can only be done for non legal/informational only DNA tests.
Not a problem. Call us so that we can find a certified collector in the City/State needed. We will reach out to that site to schedule a collection date/time suitable for your family. Discovery Diagnostics will then collect samples from the donor that is in SC, the other location will collect the samples for the other party & they will both be sent to the lab using the same case number. There is an extra $75 fee for this service, as we will have to compensate the collector in the other city/state. This can be done for both legal and non legal tests.
Of course we can! If you feel more comfortable with us performing the test, or assisting you, we would be more than happy to do either at NO CHARGE. Simply give us a call at 803-380-8211 to schedule a good time for you to come in, or for us to come to you.
(Mobile fee will apply if we come to you) -This option is only available if you purchase your at home kit from us-
